One Interaction Multiple Reasons to Remember the Brand.
Each consumer interaction combined immediate value with a reason to continue engaging. The taco created the opening, the voucher encouraged a return visit and the merchandise extended the campaign experience inside the store.
Emotional Support Taco
The free taco created an immediate, positive exchange and gave staff a natural opening to explain the L.O.C.O.S. campaign to football fans.
Bounce-Back Voucher

Campaign Merchandise
Staff promoted exclusive L.O.C.O.S. merchandise available inside the restaurant, adding another reason for fans to visit the store.

What L.O.C.O.S. Means
One Moment. Two Emotional Outcomes.
The campaign responded to the shared emotions surrounding World Cup results. Taco Bell supported disappointed fans and amplified the energy of those celebrating.
The activation was delivered around FIFA World Cup match moments and football fan behaviour. For wider football event context, visit the official FIFA website .
The Brief
Reach Football Fans Before and After the Result Landed.
The Taco Bell Promotional Staff Melbourne activation needed to connect Taco Bell with football fans at the points where emotions were most likely to peak.
Staff operated around match-day moments including pre-game arrivals, kick-off, half-time, full-time and post-match crowd movement.
The team also needed to move safely through Chapel Street, transport tacos in food-safe bags, deliver the approved talk track and maintain a positive brand presence while remaining mobile at all times.
The activation was structured as a responsive mobile system that could intercept supporters as they travelled between Taco Bell and the Union Hotel.
The Activation Challenge
A Live Campaign Built Around Timing, Movement and Emotion.
The activation required more than food distribution. Each team had to respond to match-day traffic, follow approved movement routes and deliver the campaign message at the right moment.
Real-time cultural trigger
The campaign needed to feel responsive to the match result rather than like a generic promotion running beside it.
Mobile food distribution
Tacos had to be transported safely, replenished regularly and distributed within approved operating windows.
Pedestrian compliance
Teams needed to remain mobile, avoid restricted areas and protect pedestrian access along Chapel Street.
Consistent talk track
Every interaction included the taco handover, voucher, campaign message and invitation to visit the store.
Match-Day Timing
Built Around Pre-Game, Half-Time and Full-Time Crowds.
Each activation day was structured around selected World Cup fixtures and the movement of fans before, during and after the matches.
